WORDS IN GREEK is run by Sophia Fileri, a professional with diversified experience in the media and publishing industries, education, and the non-for-profit sector.

Over the years, Sophia has worn many hats: journalist, translator, copy-editor, publications manager and social entrepreneur – to name a few. She has provided editorial services for major foundations, publishers, international organisations and NGOs; translated texts ranging from scholarly works to literature; and written articles for national newspapers and magazines, as well as scripts for radio programmes and news broadcasts.

Her real passion, however, has always been teaching. As an educator, Sophia has taught Greek and English as foreign languages, working in various environments with students of different ages, nationalities and cultural backgrounds, including people with SEN. Seeing students believe in themselves and overcome challenges is for her an exceptionally rewarding personal journey.
